Page 37, of journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin’s book, Game Change, recounts a “private” remark made by Senator Harry Reid about Barack Obama’s racial appeal. According to Heilmann and Halperin, Reid thought

“the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama — a ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,’”

Translation: “Obama’s pretty white for a black guy.”

Racist? You betcha.

Of course, the liberals, democrats, et. al., say it’s no big deal…

A blatant double standard!
