After three days of silence, Prezident Obama has determined there’s no way in the world he can spin the attempted Christmas Day terrorist attack on Northwest Flight 253 to make himself look good. So what does he do? True-to-form, he makes himself the victim by publicly repremanding his government’s intelligence agencies, citing:

“A systemic failure has occurred and I consider that totally unacceptable.”

“What is apparent was that there was a mix of human and systemic failures that contributed to this potential catastrophic breach of security.”

“There were bits of information available within the intelligence community that could have and should have been pieced together.”

Nice.

Considering the enormous intelligence workload placed on a nation conducting two wars, and the fact that your Attorney General is looking into disregarding the legal opinion of your predecessor’s administration by prosecuiting your intelligence operatives for tortuing prisoners, you further strain your relationship with these organizations by calling them out in public.

This, while the you stand behind Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, whose enormously moronic assessment that “the system worked,” shows that she doesn’t have the slightest clue what she’s doing, and like her boss, is in waaaaay over her head.

Mr. Obama: A true leader shares success, but owns failure. Quit pointing fingers; this “systemic failure” is yours! Accept it, fix it, and move on!
